Service and Commissioning Technician

OBJECTIVES:
On a daily basis the Service/Rental/iNet Technician must actively serve Industrial Scientific customers, both internal and external, with the daily processes such as technical and iNet support, iNet, rental, repair service duties, iNet install and commissioning. The technician will be required to uphold Industrial Scientific Standard Operating Procedures at all times and provide best customer service every transaction, every time while maintaining the efficiency of operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Diagnose and repair of gas detection equipment both at our service facility and on-site
Prepare Rental instruments to meet customer needs
Communicate necessary issues to the customer by phone or e-mail
Entry of information into appropriate systems such as Oracle, Salesforce.com or iNet
Participate in improvement of service center processes utilizing Kaizen
Maintain a clean and functional work area utilizing Five-S
Technical Support: Provide quality telephone and email support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise and timeliness
Training: As needed, provide customer with both remote and on-site instrument training
Staging of customer, Demo & iNet equipment
Commissioning on-site initial start-up of both hardware and software required for Industrial Scientific s iNet service solution
Process iNet Cases in SFDC for AUS & NZ
Provide support for Distributor IFC Level inquiries
Provide support for Distributor ASC Level inquiries
Process iNet replacement instruments
Maintain safe working environment
Best customer service internally and externally; provide timely problem resolution, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to both iNet issues and technical support challenges
Verify scoping documents for ISC and distributer sales
Liaise with customer IT for connectivity settings and testing
Audit customer accounts
Create support documentation for internal and external customers
Support Customer service with order entry (parts & gas), product enquiries, shipping/receiving, stock audit
Assist on ASC audits
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (Non-Negotiable):
Minimum 2 years directly related experience in repair, maintenance and commissioning of industrial equipment
Demonstrated experience in problem resolution and technical problem identification
Ability to troubleshoot to a component level utilizing standard measuring tools and electronic diagnostic equipment
Basic soldering and mechanical assembly skills
A track record of dealing with a variety of customers and taking a conscientious approach that delivers excellent levels of service
Proven verbal and written communication skills including strong typing skills
Very organized and able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong attention to detail, outstanding resourcefulness, flexibility and the ability to work independently as well as within a team setting
Must be willing and able to work some overtime, weekends, potential overnight stay (up to 25% of time), and available to be on-call after-hours based on business needs
Must have a valid driver s license and clean driving record
Must be able to follow all safety rules and wear all required safety equipment
Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel along with PowerPoint and Word
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED (Negotiable):
IPC certification-Class three soldering certification
Help-desk and / or technical customer support representative experience
Background in providing support to computer software applications
Basic knowledge of Oracle, Salesforce and iNet systems
Working knowledge of Industrial Scientific products
Ability to provide full instruction and ongoing training whenever necessary to all customers
Knowledge of monitoring toxic and explosive gases
Additional language skills
Sales Force CRM experience
iNet experience
service environment experience
Gas detection experience and specifically Industrial Scientific brand gas detectors operation and trouble-shooting
EDUCATIONAL AND/OR WORK
Experience:
Electronic certificate IV or equivalent

Must be able to use/wear applicable personal protective equipment, which may include but is not limited to ESD protection, hearing protection, and safety eyewear and safety gloves.
