10% overnight travelThe Engineering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates all aspects of engineering activities for customer engineered systems related to carbon adsorption and Ion exchange equipment projects.
The Senior Manager - Engineered Equipment role encompasses product development, outsourcing partners, bidding, engineering, cost control, and QA related to the sale.
The Senior Manager - Engineered Equipment ensures all engineering initiatives and processes are in conformance with established policies and objectives Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to) Responsible for the development and achievement of department budgets, and departmental segments of project budgets, warranty accruals and expenses Directs the efforts of engineering in the execution of customer equipment projects worth over $40MM annually Works closely with manufacturing to meet project schedule and execute projects cost effectively, including assistance with long term planning of material requirements Helps to improve production techniques and focuses on design for manufacturing Establishes department-wide quality assurance practices and product improvement objectives Directs personnel activities such as, recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations, and salary adjustment recommendations Confers with industry/product managers to support new or existing sales and service opportunities Assists in preparation of cost estimates and bid proposals.
Reviews customer technical specifications as needed Generates and directs activities to develop new products and continuously improve existing designs Oversees engineering calculations in the design of custom equipment.
Perform calculations when needed Qualifications A bachelor's degree (B.

), or equivalent from four-year college or university is required (Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering is preferred) 10
years of experience in vessel design, fabrication, ASME piping/vessel codes, welding knowledge is required 5
years of direct engineering management experience including staff supervision.
3-5 years of experience in basic electrical control for industry, process automation is preferred 5-7 years of experience with product costing and budgeting is required 5-7 years of experience in the design of water handling equipment is required Experience with contract law is preferred Experience within an original equipment manufacturing environment is preferred Experience with SAP production planning, materials management, and SAP project systems experience is preferred More about Calgon Carbon, A Kuraray CompanyWe are a company of scientific innovators with over 205 patents.
